Important part of today's World.
A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or "data." It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You can use a computer to type documents, send email, and browse the Internet. You can also use it to handle spreadsheets, accounting, database management, presentations, games, and more.
All general-purpose computers need these hardware components:
Motherboard with a CPU.
Mass storage device: permits a PC to permanently retain giant amounts of knowledge. Common mass storage devices are disk drives.
Input devices: a keyboard and mouse, the input device is the conduit through which information and directions enter a PC.
Output device: a visual display unit, printer, or alternative device that permits you to see what the PC has accomplished.
Central processing unit (CPU): the center of the PC, this is the part that truly executes directions.
In addition to those elements, each PC needs a bus that transmits information from one part of the pc to a different.
